This year’s Clare Cruinniú na nÓg programme promises an array of enriching experiences across 17 locations in the county, with over 30 workshops and performances to spark the imagination of young participants.

For the youngest attendees, Clever Little Handies presents Rhyme and Sign workshops in Shannon and Scariff. Parents and their babies and toddlers are invited to bring characters to life through the magic of storytelling, creativity, and sign language.

In Ballyvaughan, young participants can delve into the world of print-making techniques using natural materials to create stunning picture prints. An evening exhibition will showcase the diverse ‘Impressions’ crafted by young artists, offering families a chance to come together and appreciate the creativity on display.

For those with a passion for archaeology, a hands-on workshop at Clare Museum awaits. Participants will embark on a journey through history, using excavation boxes and materials to simulate archaeological digs and uncover the mysteries of times gone by.

Join Irish Chamber Youth Orchestra, aspiring musicians aged 11 to 18 years, to celebrate children’s creativity at Cultúrlann Sweeney, Kilkee, as they perform an exciting repertoire of contemporary and classical music that the whole family can enjoy.

“Cruinniú na nÓg is a great opportunity for young people to try something new,” remarked Helen Walsh, County Librarian and Creative Ireland Clare Coordinator. “From animation to sculpture, there is something for everyone, including Music Generation’s workshops and performance in Ennis, pixel portraits in Kilrush, shadow puppets in Killaloe, wild flower seed collection in Lahinch, urban street art in Ennistymon, and One Minute Myths in Ennis Library.”

Cruinniú na nÓg in Clare promises a day filled with imagination, exploration, and creativity for children and young people of all ages. Join us on this exciting journey of self-expression and discovery.
